Urgo Hotels has announced the opening of its fourth property in Florida: Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Oceanfront is set to open on 1st July 2013.
Urgo Hotels is a prominent operator, developer and owner of luxury hotels, offering a unique experience to visitors by utilising and embracing the many benefits afforded by oceanfront Florida living.
This boutique-style resort is the first to break ground in the Pompano Beach area since 2002, when the Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Pompano Beach Oceanfront, which was formerly called the Ocean Sands Resort & Spa, was erected on North Ocean Drive.
The hotel will have 219 luxury guest rooms, each with a private balcony offering views of the Atlantic. Other features include multiple swimming pools and a 3,000-square foot rooftop terrace designed for special events. There will be 8,000 square feet of designated meeting and function space, and a 4,000-square foot oceanfront ballroom. The hotel will also boast an upscale seafood restaurant, McCoy's Oceanfront, which will provide a bar with both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking a private beach.
Lamar Fisher, mayor of Pompano Beach, has described the hotel as "the game changer the city was waiting for." He continued by saying: "The city of Pompano Beach can now compete on a national level for major tourism events and conferences, and at the same time offer this magnificent resort property to our residents and their visiting families and friends. We are thrilled to be working with the Urgo Hotels team in bringing tourists to our city."
The hotel is strategically positioned for business and leisure travel and is within convenient proximity of the nightlife, shopping areas, restaurants and casinos of Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm.
