Many Americans are finding that they do not have to simply rely on domestic sales when it comes to selling their property and more and more are now targeting international buyers, as the internet allows a global market to be brought within many people’s reach.
Speaking about the moves of many people who are deciding to think outside of America to find a buyer, one property expert gave this advice to those people who are considering doing the same: “Align yourself with a broker who has ties with foreign buyers. Ask brokers if they have the ability to place advertising in the country (you're targeting) and if they will have a website dedicated to the property with a virtual tour."
Another expert added: “Foreign buyers are looking for great pictures and videos of the property, because most of the time they're not here to physically see them.” This is where the availability of the internet comes in. Even if a person is not prepared to use a broker, setting up their own website to enable them to sell their property and provide their own virtual tour of their home has never been easier or more affordable, leading to more and more people taking control of their house sale and reaching out to buyers further afield.
At a time when housing markets are still fragile globally, bringing buyers and sellers together is key. With more and more people internationally looking to buy property in the US this is definitely a market that should be explored, especially if you are finding that you are struggling to find a local buyer.
